Number of Games per Team: 5

Length of Games: Two 20 min running timed halves

Number of Players: 10 v 10, full field, full contact, No One Handed Checks

Face-offs: Traditional face-offs at midfield will commence after each goal

The Champion of ECS will be determined by overall record. If teams are tied we will use the following formula as a tie breaker. Goals Scored – Goals Allowed. The team with the largest goal differential is the champion!

ECS will adopt all NY State Section 1 lacrosse rules with a few specific wrinkles:

Players, lace up your cleats extra tight because this weekend you’ll be flying. Flying through the crease that is! That’s right here at ECS we allow any and all versions of the “Air Gait”. You may take off outside the crease and as long as the ball is in the back of the net before you land in the crease the goal is good.

You will see an orange line on the field in an arch shape roughly 12 yards from the goal. You stick one from behind the arch, double your goal stats, because that ones worth 2! That’s right guys your down 1 with 20 seconds left; you make the call go for the dunk down low or the win from long range!

Another rule change that will be in effect will be a judgment call by our officials. If a team possess the ball for an extended period of time and does not appear to be trying to score, the ref will warn the team once, if the team does not take a shot in the next 20 seconds the ref will blow the whistle and the team will turn the ball over. The official will give you a count down from 10 seconds when you are winding down on your possession. We want you to play the game the way it was meant to be played; FAST! So enjoy a possession to catch your breath but get the ball moving up the field so you don’t have unforced turnovers.

The time, score, and all penalties will be kept on the field by the officials. Penalties will be time and a half: 1 min penalties will be 1 min 30 seconds. 30 second penalties will be 45 seconds. Keep it clean boys!

All teams must have a coach 22 years old or older on the side line at all times and can have no more than 3 coaches on the side line with the team.

There is 100% no yelling, bantering, cursing, or using any hostel language towards a referee, opposing player, or spectator at any time by players, coaches, or spectators. We have a NO TOLERANCE policy for these actions, so please keep it classy. If there is an issue the Head of Officials for ECS will be consulted and tournament penalties to that specific team will be enforced.

There is 100% no fighting at ECS if any player coach or spectator gets in a physical or verbal altercation they will be escorted off the premises and not allowed back for the remainder of the showdown.

Parents and all spectators must stay on the spectators side of the field at all times.

ECS is not responsible for lost or stolen property. You are responsible for all your belongings at all times. ECS reserves the right to alter the length of games, time of games, and number games due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
